Position: Pharmacy Dispensing Technician
Job Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Department: Dispensing
The Dispensing Technician is responsible for accurate and timely preparation of all medication orders. This person will assist the pharmacists by performing various routine technical job functions while exhibiting a high degree of accuracy and ethic in their work.
Reporting Relationships:
Reports to: Production Manager, Dispensing Technician Supervisors, and Pharmacists
Works with: UVANTA Pharmacy Team Members
Essential Functions:
Responsibilities:
 Performs all functions related to the preparation and dispensing of prescriptions and over the counter medications
 Process returned medications as assigned
 Maintains HIPAA Compliance and FWA
 Follows all UVANTA policies and procedures
 Responsible for maintaining a neat and clean work environment
 Restock supplies as needed
 Assists in performing inventory maintenance as assigned
 Must be able to float to all assigned areas of dispensing as trained
 Must work efficiently, accurately, and be able to perform multiple tasks
 Assist in training new staff as needed
 Maintain accurate record keeping
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
 Must be organized
 Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely with all team members
 Must be punctual and exhibit time management skills
 Must be a Team player, have a can-do attitude, be flexible, honest and self-motivated
Minimum Qualifications:
 Minimum of 6-months experience working as a pharmacy technician preferred
 IL Licensed Pharmacy Technician
 Technician Certification (or grandfathered)
Physical Requirements:
The majority of work is performed in a professional setting and is physically active, requiring walking, standing for long periods, bending and carrying items weighing 40 pounds or less.
